So here it is, October. Everyone’s into the full swing of the school year and for those of you who are on the ball, holiday preparations are being made. Well, I mean, this weekend is in fact the Thanksgiving Day long weekend in Canada! How did that happen?
If you’re thinking about a family and/or children’s portrait session before the holidays in December, get in touch soon as I only have a few dates left this year. With my having booked a nice family vacay to the Caribbean (whoot!), sessions already booked in my calendar, and my wanting to enjoy the holidays with the family myself, there doesn’t leave too much time in between. One thing I’ve decided I will offer this year will be a set of Shorty Story holiday stylized sessions. These sessions are short and sweet at under 30 minutes and will be held in my natural light studio. It’s super easy to get gorgeous photos and holiday cards prepared and sent to friends and family. I got you covered!
Speaking of Short Story Sessions, here’s a set of photos from my Back to School Short Story Session with my cutie pie Ms. M. She’s only 2, so is not technically in school, but she is now on official potty training! Wish hubby and I luck with that! Anyway, take a look at this session and get a feel for what my Short Story sessions are all about, then read on at the end of this post to find more details on how you can book a Short Story Session in advance of the December holidays…
Ms. M was super excited when see saw the set up I created for her. I arranged the set up during her short nap and surprised her. She walked into the room and just kept saying “Oh my gosh! Oh my gooosh!”
New pencils and pencil crayons. She’s mesmerized with the selection. You know, I still get that excited feeling when I open up a fresh pack of pencils or crayons. My favourite part about back to school was getting the new supplies!
I, like any parent, am always delighted when she learns something new. It’s one of the coolest things about being a parent…seeing your child’s brain expand in ways. Ms. Mila loves singing the alphabet song. She knows all of her letters and gets so excited when she sees letters on signs, etc. when we’re out and about. “Look mamma, it’s a letter P”…that’s what I get when I’m pulling into a parking lot ; ) She loves having me draw out shapes and naming them for me and is counting to 12. Now she wants to get better at her colours. She’ll point at things when we’re in the car or out for a walk, tell me what she sees and then asks me to tell her what colour it is.
Oh yes, I got a little bit of attitude in the image below. I can’t blame the girl, mamma’s got a camera in her face.
RECESS!! The set of images below are probably my favourites. Ms. M used to love apples when she was a little bit younger, but then stopped eating them. I know children go through phases with what they’ll eat. So I was shocked that she wanted to eat what I was considering were props ; )
And she really got into that apple! Funny thing is, she hasn’t eaten one again after this.
Oh my sweet, sweet girl. From her little fingers to her little toes, she is pure sweetness. Love her so much and am so happy I got these images of her.
Don’t you think you (or someone you know) deserve to have some updated photos of your children? They’re only this little for a short time. I’m going to make it so simple for you this holiday season with my Holiday Stylized Short Story Session. The best part, if you like, bring along their halloween costume and you get both holidays taken care of in one session. I got you covered! Check out the details in my post here.
Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians!
