This past summer I had the chance to photograph Nicole as she got dressed for her wedding and awaited to meet her then future husband for a first look. Nicole’s family visited from out of town to attend the wedding and were staying in the historic Sylvia Hotel in Vancouver. Nicole got dressed at the gorgeous hotel before we headed to Yaletown.
As I photographed Nicole getting dressed, with the help of her mother, I commented on the simplistic beauty of the dress. She told me she had the silk dress tailor made for her. I loved that, but what I loved even more was that the dress was tailor made by her mother!
The beautiful veil, worn by her grandmother on her wedding day, was a gorgeous touch to this elegant dress.
Nicole’s mother was so sweet. A very personable and funny woman. I had fun chatting and laughing with her. I welled up inside as I saw her tear up with pride and emotion as she looked at her beautiful daughter, ready to be wed.
We headed outside to capture more images in front of the ivy covered hotel.
Nicole made a stunning bride!
At precisely 12:30, Jacob laid eyes on his beautiful bride to be.
I love how stoic she looks in the above image.
Nicole’s younger sister was there for big sis to help make sure everything went smoothly before they headed off to the wedding. How beautiful are these sisters!
Congratulations again Nicole + Jacob. It was an honour to photograph your first look!
