It’s pretty safe to say this little girl stole my heart when she made her appearance in my studio! She is the first red-headed baby girl I’ve welcomed to my studio, and oh my, was she precious! Her mom and dad waited a long time to be blessed with their daughter, and I know they now say she was worth the wait. Little Chloe was wonderful during our session, sweet and sleepy like most newborns, and she even opened her eyes so we could see their beauty!
For Chloe’s soft, bright session, we went with lots of pastels and crisp whites. The soft palette kept things cheery and modern, and were perfect for a little girl (these would be beautiful in any nursery, because of their minimalist and clean look). I really try to approach each newborn session with the idea that the baby can take the lead. I give ample time for feeding, posing, and letting them wake and sleep as much as they’d like. That way, I can capture the very real smiles, stretches, yawns, and yes, even the cries! Because in the years to come, you will even miss those little newborn cries, I guarantee you. I love this natural approach, and so do the parents who come through my doors; it equals less stress, less pressure to “get that perfect pose”, and everyone leaves with happy memories rather than a stressful experience.
