Six months old is pretty magical! Little ones around the half-year mark begin communicating, smiling and laughing more, and they are getting mobile. It’s a really sweet, active stage, and the perfect time for baby pictures. This little man and his parents received a very special gift from a family friend: a gift certificate for a private mini session in my studio! This is one of the most amazing gifts to give to a new family, because it will truly be giving them heirloom art. Fine art portraits are something that can be treasured for generations to come, and is truly the ‘gift that keeps on giving’.
Sam’s parents received this sweet gift at their baby shower, and waited for the six month mark to use their session. Another great benefit of this age is that the baby can be propped up for seated photographs (some babies are close to sitting on their own!). I generally start the babies dressed in their layered outfits for the first few photos, then we slowly get them down to just diapers. I just adore photographing babies at this age with their little toes and their soft skin. The little things I capture are the things that parents will miss when their children are older, I guarantee it. Of course, we also snapped several of mom, dad, and baby together, and all their personalities were shining through…just look at those smiles!
The very last image in this post is an example of one of my storyboards! I personally curate images in to these lovely prints, making it a modern and stylish way to display a number of images on just one print. Enjoy all this bright and happy images from Baby Sam and his family!
